What you are seeing on this map are all the College Football Players in the FBS (Highest Division) from 2008 to 2017 and what college team they played for. The college recruitment process for football in the United States is competitive and complicated.

Each school has different recruiting patterns and players are drawn to different schools based on their proximity to the school, record of the program, scholarship offer, and personal connection.

Select a school to see where their players originate from and how they connect to the school they play for. Click on Alabama or Ohio State to see some of the top schools or Houston who recruits very locally. Or pick Wisconsin, the best of them all.

This map uses Semantic UI for the dropdowns and menus and is very easy to integrate with CARTO.js and jQuery.
